Academy Of Tone

All of the channels on the AMP1 Iridium Edition - with the exception of the Vintage overdrive channel - have infinitely adjustable sound filters with which each channel can be individually tuned in character. In addition, there is a controller for the individual volume of the channel. The following generally applies to the TONE controls: turned down controls offer more 'wood' and mids in the tone, whereas turned up controls deliver more bite and 'size'.

The three independent, discretely constructed OVERDRIVE channels deliver rich and tight distorted sounds that can be altered in terms of gain structure and timbre. Each of these channels offers different attack, response and dynamics. The CLEAN channel, with large amounts of headroom and huge treble reserves, helps even out mid-range heavy humbuckers to produce transparent, sparkling clean sounds.

BOOST

The boost switches a 2-stage tube simulation in front of the channels of the AMP1. With the Custom Control Boost controller, the character can be regulated from transparent to creamy with "self-distortion". Depending on the channel, this enables even more transparent, creamier or more brutal sounds. With stronger pickups with high output, there is a slight overdrive from about half the boost, which makes the tone singing and creamy with OVERDRIVE. If, on the other hand, you want ultra-brilliant and pure clean sounds, it is advisable to only turn the control up half way.

MODERN TONE

With its extremely high gain reserves, the MODERN channel delivers crystal-clear string separation through massive low-cut. With the Custom Control TONE control, it can be adjusted from the center-focused "cut thru the mix" solo sound (fully counterclockwise) to the V-curve typical of "maximum brutality" in the mids (fully clockwise).

CLASSIC TONE

Due to the hard distortion characteristic and the specially tuned bass filter, the CLASSIC channel is percussive and significantly wider and harder in the mid-range than the VINTAGE channel. The mid-range spectrum can be shaped with the Custom Control TONE from "Hot Rodded British High Gain" on the left stop to the "German Sound Wall" on the right stop.

CLEAN TONE

The CLEAN channel of the AMP1 Iridium Edition delivers massive headroom thanks to the 100 watt power amp and treble reserves that help even mid-range humbuckers to produce transparent clean sounds. The TONE control ranges from "traditional California style" fully left to "pristine sparkling" fully right.
