The control and activation of the AMP1 Power Soak is possible both with the REMOTE1 and - with the help of the MIDI1 adapter - via MIDI. You can find out how to do this via MIDI here: Power Soak via MIDI
You activate the Power Soak by engaging the Power Soak switch [9] in Direct Access Mode. The level controller of the REMOTE1 then regulates the Power Soak in two areas: Home (0.15 to 2 watts) and Stage (7 to 100 watts), as in the illustration below. You can then save the value set in this way for each preset.

The effect of the Power Soak always depends on the available power, i.e. on the setting of the master volume on the AMP1. In order to get to know how the Power Soak works, it is advisable to first play a clean sound with the master volume set to 5 (careful, as this is already very loud!) and then slowly turn back the Power Soak using the level control of the REMOTE1. You will notice that only the loud peaks of your guitar playing are suppressed by the Power Soak and converted into compression and subtle overdrive.
If you now turn up the master volume control on the AMP1, the output stage will be further overdriven. If you turn the level control back beyond the middle position, you can clearly hear the jump to the "home volume" realm. That is now 2 watts. Loud enough for the home! You can turn the level knob back further until the sound is completely flat. The output stage distortion increases.
It is worth experimenting with Master Volume on the AMP1 and Power Soak.
