Fix volume fluctuations due to oxidation
As can happen with all guitar amplifiers, the AMP1's potentiometers or other components can oxidize over time, resulting in volume fluctuations – whether due to excessively humid conditions in the rehearsal room or simply due to disuse. No electrical device is immune to this.
The custom controls on the side are particularly at risk, as many guitarists set them once and then don't change them for years.

This happens less often with all the controls on the front panel, as they are used or turned more often.
If you ever find yourself in this situation, proceed as follows:
- Turn all controls, including the side custom controls, completely from left to right several times (at least 10 times).
- The next step is to repeatedly insert and remove a jack plug from all jacks. This problem can also occur if the effects loop is used infrequently.
- Finally, there's a -/+ dB switch recessed into the bottom of AMP1 . Press this switch at least 10 times. Use a small pen or screwdriver to do this.
If the problem is really due to oxidation, this method will usually solve it and will last for a good few years before you have to repeat the procedure.
Prevention
To generally avoid such problems, ensure that electrical devices like the AMP1 are not exposed to excessively humid conditions. For example, avoid humid rehearsal rooms, use an air dryer in the rehearsal room, ventilate regularly, let the pedalboard dry in the fresh air after a rainy concert, and don't store it wet in a closed case, etc.
With proper storage and regular use, you will enjoy your AMP1 for a long time.
