Why are the NanoCab and FatCab 'only' 60 watts? Can you easily connect them to the 100-watt AMP1?
This question is entirely justified. However, there are actually good reasons for designing the two speakers in the NanoCab and FatCab. If there were a 100-watt loudspeaker that met our (or Thomas Blug's) sound expectations, then we would certainly use it!
There is one physical problem here that cannot be changed: 100-watt speakers need a larger 2-inch voice coil. The size of the voice coil inevitably makes the speaker's membrane stiffer, and this at the expense of the sound's liveliness. The BluGuitar speakers have a smaller voice coil that makes them sound a lot livelier. However, this type of voice coil cannot be loaded with 100 watts of power.
The BluGuitar loudspeakers have the liveliness of a Celestion Greenback and are almost three times as resilient. They withstand the stress of a noisy AMP1 well.
If a BluGuitar cabinet is actually too quiet for you, you should consider adding a second one. The combination of two NanoCabs or two FatCabs - or a NanoCab and a FatCab together (Thomas' personal favorite!) - not only sounds good... it is also extremely loud! In addition, you can hear yourself perfectly everywhere on the stage if you position one cab behind you and one to the side.
