Why does BluGuitar make a speaker cable? After all, there are cables like sand by the sea, and as is well known, Thomas does not develop anything that already exists. Here is his story on the Vintage Premium Speaker Cable:

"After using different speaker cables for many years without paying much attention to the type of cable, I made an accidental discovery at some point: I used a not particularly expensive Marshall speaker cable with molded plastic plugs and noticed that my sound was no longer as stiff , but sounded round and still airy.

Where does the "mojo" come from?

Of course, I wanted to get to the bottom of this immediately. I tested everything possible: solid copper cables, normal hi-fi speaker cables, silver-plated cables, cables with different cross-sections and of course the quality cables from well-known brand manufacturers. I found that all of these cables sounded more or less neutral and that the sound was never as round as with the cheap Marshall cable. The "mojo" was missing, which makes the sound appear homogeneous and, on top of that, detached from the box.

After attending a workshop with a guitar magazine columnist, I shared my discovery with him and we realized that we had had similar experiences in that regard. He then sent me a piece of 1953 power cord, like the ones used by Fender for speakers. I found that the cable delivered the warmth and round, balanced sound I was always looking for.

After analyzing the number and composition of the cable's inner conductors, I set out to find a similar cable. And lo and behold, I found a cable with a slightly higher cross-section, which, even with a longer length, achieves exactly the sound I was looking for without great loss of performance.

The cable length does matter!

Another realization came to me when I had to shorten a guitar cable several times. After the third shortening of the cable, an unbelievable change in sound suddenly occurred.
I couldn't explain this big difference in sound simply by changing the capacity due to the shorter length. It was only many years later that I found out that there was a theory, unknown to me at the time, that there were certain cable lengths where a cable simply sounded different. I then tested these "magical" lengths - with the result that I actually found the ideal length for my cable.

Those two insights, and everything else I know about speaker cables, underlie what we know today as the BluGuitar BluGuitar Vintage Premium Speaker Cable with tonal integrity.”
